The next Jurassic Park film, Jurassic World, has hit a few road bumps along the way so we’re happy to be able to say they’ve finally started casting.
Ty Simpkins, the child actor who joined Iron Man 3 to riff off Robert Downey Jr. has officially been cast in a lead role. Deadline writes:
Despite the fact I probably have food in the freezer older than this young actor, Simpkins has worked before with producer Steven Spielberg, who is producing with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. Simpkins made his feature debut in the Spielberg-directed War Of The Worlds, opposite Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning. Last year, Simpkins starred in the genre smash Insidious, and reprises in the sequel.
Meanwhile, Variety is saying Kings of Summer’s Nick Robinson is in talks to join the cast. Word is he’ll be playing an older brother to Simpkins. Deadline additional adds New Girl’s Jake Johnson to the mix and Variety reminds us of Bryce Dallas Howard possibly having a role as well, but neither are confirmed.
I can already see Howard in this universe so I really hope that comes through but while I like them including kids in the cast once again, part of me would have really loved for them to have two sisters instead of two brothers.
