According to movie legend, when stop motion animator Phil Tippett saw how well cats could replicate the movements of dinosaurs for film, he exclaimed “I’ve just become extinct.” Steven Spielberg loved the response so much, he borrowed the line for the film itself. And then they wound up replacing the cats in post with CGI, because CGI doesn’t demand three six-hour naps and all the dry food it can crunch a day.
