Editor’s Note: Amanda’s mom told us that she’d make sure her daughter delivered her Hannibal commentary by Monday every week. We’re not sure that we haven’t stumbled into some Twilight Zone in which Amanda honors deadlines.
Oh, my stars and garters, this episode. I have never felt so many different feels in the span of one hour than I have during “Mukozuke.” Let’s start from the very beginning.
First off, let us all pour one out for Dr. Beverly Katz, whose parents drove her to big forensic farm in the country where she can play with other forensic investigators. The loss was felt by everybody in the FBI, especially by Beverly’s former teammates Jimmy and Brian. If you live a thousand years, you will never see anything sadder in your life than a grieving Scott Thompson.
Goodbye, BevKatz. You were too awesome for your time. I’m sorry Hannibal Lecter turned you into an edgy art installation.
Now let’s address the wet, crucified elephant in the room: HOLY SHIT, THAT HAPPENED. How many fetishes did you count in that scene? Do you think Bryan Fuller knew that my birthday is this week? Should I feel bad about how many times I replayed that scene? I am disturbed by my own thoughts right now, and I don’t care.
Good God, Hannibal. I mean, damn.
Oh, and Eddie Izzard‘s back. So many things!
