If you’re a regular reader of the site, you know I’m a new father. That’s probably why KinderStuff caught my attention. My daughter is less than a month old, and she’s already outgrown a lot of the Batman outfits she has. Don’t worry, she has more, but it raises the issue that children quickly outgrow clothing, so parents are constantly having to buy new clothes. New online clothing company KinderStuff offers premium, organic clothing, and when your kid outgrows it, you can send it back for a discount on new clothes. The site launched in the U.S. today. Letting kids wear high-end garments for a limited time? Where have I heard that before…

Yup! KinderStuff is basically a real-life online version of Rent-a-Swag from Parks and Recreation, and that’s tremendous. KinderStuff’s website says they focus on only offering the best for your kid in an eco-friendly and socially responsible way. It makes no mention of whether or not they specialize on making stacks on stacks on stacks on stacks, but that’s probably a given.

The driving idea behind KinderStuff seems to be making clothing affordable, and as a new parent, I appreciate the sentiment. KinderStuff says they can keep their prices down by not having to maintain physical stores, deal with wholesalers, or pay big brand markups. They sell their own clothes through their own website, which minimizes overhead.

Social responsibility also seems important to the company. All of KinderStuff’s clothes are made in Germany or the United States using organic and non-toxic materials. When a piece of clothing no longer fits your kid, you can send it back to KinderStuff for a discount on your next purchase. They even pay for the return shipping. Depending on the condition of the returned clothes they’ll either be sold as discounted hand-me-downs or donated to charity.

Unfortunately, KinderStuff doesn’t have any licensed clothings, so returnable, organic, and well-made Batman outfits for my daughter appear to be out of the question — at least for now. Though there is a feedback page on the company’s site, which they may regret after my 50 “Please make Batman clothing” suggestions.

Update: After this post went up the folks at KinderStuff contacted me with a coupon code our readers can use for 15% off on the site. If you’re interested, punch in SHARE-LOVE-2943 at checkout for the discount.
