It’s Thursday now and YouTube’s Geek Week is going full steam ahead. So what is today’s theme? Gaming. The smorgasbord on hand includes video game spoofs, song covers, live-action reenactments, and lots and lots of Minecraft. My favorite of the bunch is The Completionist’s video review on everyone’s favorite science testing game, Portal.
Jirard “Dragonrider” Khalil, aka The Completionist, is one of my favorite YouTube personalities for his fantastic analysis and dedication to what he does. If you’ve never seen his work before, you can still probably guess his shtick from the name– he plays a game from start to finish and unlocks all of the content it has to offer.
He breaks one game down a week and tells you whether you should complete it like he did, finish it, only play some of it, or just look at it. His pal Greg Wilmot makes all kinds of jokes along the way.
Khalil jumped on the Geek Week bandwagon with this review of Portal, and despite making some incredibly trite cake jokes, it’s pretty rad for the most part. I’ll leave it to you to check out. Why not do a little completing yourself and complete today’s Geek Week selection while you’re at it?
- Internet Response League: Gamers crowdsourcing disaster relief.
- There’s no killing in Portal, so not even Pat Robertson can hate it.
- And this is what you’ll be getting with your Xbox One at launch
