Hey, it’s #FollowFriday again! That means that we get to pick a person who is great and tell you all about how great they are at Twitter. Then you go and follow that person on Twitter, because why wouldn’t you listen to every single thing we say? This week, we’re recommending the creator of the webcomic JL8, Yale Stewart.

Who he is:

Yale Stewart is the creator and artist behind the adorable, pint-sized DC web comic JL8, and we’re huge fans of his work. He’s an all around funny and talented guy, and his about page on the JL8 Tumblr describes him like this:

Yale Stewart is an independent comic book artist, working primarily on his creator-owned project, “Gifted.” Also a comedy, “Gifted” is a semi-autobiographical work chronicling the life and times of he and his friends. His day job is working in the vintage clothing industry.

When not drawing, Yale can be found spending his time in a myriad of ways. The most frequent of these activities would be smoking cigars, shopping for clothes, playing video games, and talking to girls. Or trying to, anyway. He is also an avid movie-watcher and music-listener, and eagerly awaits the return of baseball season.

He attended Savannah College of Art and Design and graduated with a BFA in Animation (2010). Originally from St. Louis, MO (Go Cards [and Blues]), he currently resides in Savannah, GA.

Why you should follow:

The excellent, mini depictions of Batman and Superman on his Twitter background aren’t enough? Alright, Stewart is also an excellent guy who believes that he should strive to be a hero like the characters he depicts in his comics, which is something we really like to see from people who draw comics. To that end, he recently put up some original JL8 artwork up for sale, so that he could donate the proceeds to typhoon victims in the Philippines. What a swell guy.

Of course, you’ll also be kept up to date with news on JL8 and his original, non-superhero-related comic, Gifted. If you’re looking for some new comics to read, look no further.

Great Tweets:

As mentioned, here he is asking people to get on board and help him help others, just like a true superhero.

Cool. Definitely cool.

Can you blame them? Who wouldn’t want to be Yale Stewart?

Bother someone at a con? Answer to Yale Stewart.

You could’ve prevented this if you’d been following him, because this is a sad thing indeed.

Superhero cartoon drinking games! What more do you need? (Probably a stomach pump.)
