Oh, sure, Matt Smith has left Doctor Who, but that doesn’t mean Eleven’s story is over. He continues in the latest BBC Books Doctor Who “Time Trips” novel Into Nowhere by Jenny T. Colgan, and he’s paired up with Clara, The Impossible Girl for one more story if the Christmas Special left you wanting.

A press release from BBC Books gives the synopsis:

The Eleventh Doctor and Clara land on an unknown alien planet. To the Doctor’s delight and Clara’s astonishment, it really is unknown. It’s a planet the Doctor has never seen. It’s not on any maps, it’s not referenced on any star charts or in the TARDIS data banks. It doesn’t even have a name. What could be so terrible that its existence has been erased?

It’s the second book in the “Time Trips” series, which gives authors from different genres the keys to the Doctor Who universe to see what they come up with. It sounds like the series could provide some interesting takes on The Doctor and his companions, since the books aren’t just being written by sci-fi authors.

Colgan wrote one earlier Doctor Who novel, 2012’s Doctor Who: Dark Horizons, but she usually writes women’s fiction. If you’ve been dying to see Clara become an interesting and well-developed character instead of how Steven Moffat usually treats her, this might be the book for you.

The ebook is available today. It’s currently on iBooks for $2.99 and you can get it on Kindle through Amazon for just $2.37.
