The Ninja Turtles trailer was supposed to premiere along with Captain America: The Winter Soldier next week, but it just dropped online, and hoo boy, it’s pretty much what we heard it was going to be like. We do get a better look at the Turtles in action than what was talked about before, though.

All the weird plot details are there about April’s father and Shredder working together to create the Turtles, who now come with the ability to crush ledges just by landing on them with their feet, so I guess they’ve got a little more superhero quality to them now on top of their martial arts?

The CG looks about as good as you’d expect, which is pretty much not very convincing at all, because that’s pretty much where CG is still at in terms of making convincing living creatures.

I’ll forgive it that, though, because while I love the look from the original movie, it’s not like that was any more realistic. It just looked fake in a different way.

It also looks like more action and less comedy than the original movie, but I was kind of expecting that already, too, so now that we’ve seen that the Turtles don’t look completely off and aren’t from space, I’m still cautiously optimistic about this.
