The great people over at Estately have compiled an infographic that should hit close to home for anyone who lives in the U.S. Here’s a map showing what each state Googles the most, and, yeah, I don’t think there’s a lot of cause for regional pride here. This is just weird all around, America.
Estately says they ran “hundreds of search queries through Google Trends to determine which words, terms, and questions each state was searching for more than any other.” Obviously it’s impossible to say that the map is a 100% accurate indication of your state’s strange queries, but a lot of them (I’m looking at you, Alabama) seem pretty self-evident.
Head over to Estately to see frequent searches that didn’t make the map, and a very funny analysis of what the results says about each State’s character. Some of New York’s runner ups for most Googled are “bail money”, “bed bugs” and “hangover remedies”, all of which, sadly, are 0% surprising to me. Florida also stayed true to character with searches such as “alligator wrestling,” “Hulk Hogan” “Juviderm,” “lice” and “what is sarcasm?”.
I actually thought Missouri’s searches were the most surprising. “Family Circus” and “Nelly?” You guys do you, I guess. ‘Murica!
