So I don’t know if you know but we like totally know people at Kickstarter and they were like “We should do an event” and we were like “Sure, awesome!” and now this is happening.

So, if you just so happen to be in town this weekend for, I dunno, any old reason, you should totally stop by and meet us, Kickstarter people, and Kickstarter users. Details below the jump.

We will be at the Houndstooth Pub at 520 8th Avenue from 7 to 10pm Friday night (October 14th).

I cannot guarantee that the Doctor will make an appearance.

He’s been feeling a bit anti-social lately.

But we will soldier on without him if need be! As Kickstarter says, there will be comic fans, comic creators (Jeremy Bastian and Thomas Negovan of Cursed Pirate Girl,Renae De Liz and Laura Morley of Womanthology, Jimmy Palmiotti of Queen Crab, and Joey Esposito of Footprints are all on Kickstarter’s NYCC panel this year on how to use the website to get your comics made), and plenty of general geekery. We’ll be bringing some games (I’m personally gung ho to get a game of Paper Telephone going with any artists in attendance).

So come on out and say hello!

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
