While we still don’t know the premiere date for the first episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones game, the studio just confirmed a lot of suspicions we had about what the game is going to be like, from multiple playable characters to a decidedly Northern setting. But will there be questionable and difficult moral choices? It’s not a Telltale game without those.

First things first: the game will be based on the HBO television version of Game of Thrones and not directly on the A Song of Ice and Fire books themselves. It will, however, feature a set of characters that are briefly mentioned in the books but haven’t yet appeared in the show: House Forrester. Telltale Games’ official release says more:

House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros. Bannermen to House Glover, they have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North – the Starks. The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. Built over fifteen hundred years ago by Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons, Ironrath is a testament to the strength and endurance of Ironwood. The Forrester house words are ‘Iron from Ice’, which echoes their belief that – like the ironwood itself – the adverse conditions and unforgiving landscape of the North only makes them stronger.

Those rumors about having five playable characters to jump back and forth between turned out to be true as well; some of these characters will be family members of House Forrester and others will be “in service” to the house, but they’ll all be scattered across both Westeros and Essos (fingers crossed for some dragon cameos, y’all). The decisions that you make while inahabiting one character will “ripple out to affect the rest of House Forrester,” so don’t pull a Ned and/or Catelyn Stark and jeopardize your entire line over honor or something.

The series will begin towards the end of GoT‘s third season—so post Red-Wedding, probably–and ends right before the fifth season begins in the spring, putting it firmly in Feast for Crows/Dance with Dragons territory. Again, there’s sadly no release date yet, but we do know that the game will be available for PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS. Hooray! Terrifying psuedo-magical Medieval deaths for everyone!
