The Rock Officially Signs on for Disney’s Moana, is Stoked to Show off His Singing Skills

At DISNEY STUDIOS signing contracts to play the male lead in their next big classic animated musical, #MOANA. Just had an amazing 2hr presentation and it’s easy to see why they’re the greatest story tellers in the world. Im excited. Well, this is adorable news! Disney’s Moana has its first official cast member, and boy is he excited.

A musical from Ron Clements and John Musker (the same creative team that brought us Aladdin and The Little Mermaid), Moana will follow Disney’s first-ever Polynesian princess as she sails across the South Pacific with the help of the demigod Maui (reportedly the character Johnson will play).

It’s exciting to see Disney slowly diversifying their universe, and reassuring that they seem to be casting actors of actual Polynesian descent. What do you think, gang?
