In what may have been the most dastardly negotiation tactic ever, David Lynch bowed out of Showtime’s new season of Twin Peaks last weekend citing negotiation difficulties and budget constraints. Since then, the cast banded together to create a video expressing what we all know to be true: without David Lynch, Twin Peaks just isn’t Twin Peaks.
Here’s a list of the video’s participants, via Youtube:
1st Actor is Sheryl Lee, playing Laura Palmer & Maddy Ferguson, 2nd is Dana Ashbrook — playing Bobby Briggs, 3rd actor is Sherilyn Fenn who was playing Audrey Horne (guess she is with her son); 4th is Mädchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), 5th is Peggy Lipton (Norma Jennings), 6th James Marshall (James Hurley), 7th Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran), 8th Gary Hershberger (Mike Nelson), 9th Catherine E. Coulson (The Log Lady), 10th — Wendy Robie (Nadine Hurley) 11th Al Strobel (MIKE), 12th is Jennifer Chambers Lynch, who wrote the book ”The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer”, she is also the daughter of David Lynch.
Honestly, if this is the only new Twin Peaks content we ever get, I think I’ll be satisfied; there’s something about seeing the surviving members of the old cast in character again (albeit hiding in their bathrooms/backyards) that is just damn fine. Your move, Showtime.
