After hearing the bad news that Michelle MacLaren is no longer going to be helming the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, we’re hearing a bit of cool news today. Lynda Carter, the first live-action Wonder Woman, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly Radio, expressed interest in being involved in the new Wonder Woman film. Not as Diana Prince, obviously (that honor goes to Gal Gadot), but in a different capacity.
She tells EW Radio:
I would love to be involved in a creative position of it. I know so much about what people want from it, I think, that just being as a consultant on a movie. I think it needs a woman.
Lynda Carter consulting on Wonder Woman? Sounds like a great idea to me! What’s more, she’d love to play a role in the film – as long as its not just a cameo, but a nuanced, meaty role. That of Diana’s mother, Hippolyta, perhaps?
What do you think? How can Carter best serve the (hopefully) inevitable Wonder Woman franchise? The solo film is set to drop June 23, 2017.
