A new addition to the Indiana Jones franchise has been rolling towards us with the inevitability of so many boulders since rumors began circulating last January that Disney was planning to tighten its vise-grip on all our favorite franchises by rebooting the series with Chris Pratt as the lead, but Lucasfilm has finally confirmed that Indiana belongs in a theater again.
Pratt himself has remained tight-lipped about the project, but during an interview for Vanity Fair‘s June Star Wars cover story, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that a new Indiana Jones movie “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”
Obviously it still remains to be seen if Pratt and Spielberg will be on board, but considering the star power Pratt has garnered recently, I’d be surprised if Burt Macklin didn’t make an appearance. And if not Pratt, maybe we could we get a rogue lady archeologist this time? Ideally played by Gina Torres?
What do you think, gang? Are you excited for more Indiana Jones, or worried that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is about to become the second-worst film in the franchise?
