It’s time for Pull Wisely (why yes, that is an Indiana Jones reference), where we give you short snippets of which comics we’re looking forward to each week—and then ask for your recommendations in the comments.
Ours will by no means be a complete list of ALL THE THINGS; after all, we just can’t read everything—or heck, even keep up with how many awesome comics are out there period. But we know you guys love some good stuff, so let us (and your fellow TMSers) know what you’re excited about this week!
Our picks:
STARFIRE #1 – DC Now that’s the Starfire we’ve been waiting for, from an all-lady team. Writer: Amanda Conner Artist: Emanuela Lupacchino
1602 WITCH HUNTER ANGELA #1 – Marvel Angela: Asgard’s Assassin’s Secret Wars run, with a trans character in 1602. Writer: Marguerite Bennett and Keiron Gillen Artist: Stephanie Hans
CAPTAIN MARVEL AND THE CAROL CORPS #1 – Marvel IT’S HERE. Writer: Kelly Sue DeConnick Artist: David Lopez
BATGIRL OF BURNSIDE VOL. 1 – DC If you’ve missed this run, you need to pick up the first trade. Brooklyn hacker Babs is everything. Writer: Brenden Fletcher and Cameron M. Stewart Artist: Babs Tarr
GOTHAM ACADEMY #7 – DC Our faves are back – with Damian Wayne?!. Writer: Brenden Fletcher, Becky Cloonan Artist: Mingjue Helen Chen
SILK #5 – Marvel Time to take down the Black Cat (with Cindy’s signature flare). Writer: Robbie Thompson Artist: Stacey Lee

Sam Maggs is a writer and televisioner, currently hailing from the Kingdom of the North (Toronto). Her first book, THE FANGIRL'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY will be out soon from Quirk Books. Sam’s parents saw Star Wars: A New Hope 24 times when it first came out, so none of this is really her fault.
