It’s official: Rise of the Planet of the Apes‘ Rupert Wyatt will direct the Gambit solo movie for 20th Century Fox.

Entertainment Weekly broke the news today that Wyatt will helm the movie, which is due out next year. In addition to Rise of the Planet of the Apes—which turned out significantly better than the last Planet of the Apes reboot—Wyatt’s credits include 2014’s The Gambler and Echo Chamber.

Tatum, along with starring in the movie as the X-Men’ movie universe’s Gambit, is co-producing the film, and has said that the script’s first draft is great. What do you think of their choice of director?
