Take that, bigots!
Dark Horse Comics just announced a new series set in the Legend of Korra universe and written by Michael Dante DiMartino, the co-creator of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Korra. Not a lot of details have been released on the project yet, but considering the gif Dark Horse used in their announcement, we’re either getting something with a Korra/Asami focus, or someone is a big old tease.
We might not have to settle for that alternate ending anymore, my friends. We might be getting more than just a glimpse of the representation biseuxals deserve–we might be getting an entirely canon comic. Oh, what a day. What a lovely day.
UPDATE:Ā IGN has revealed some new and incredibly exciting details about the upcoming series and Dark Horse’s SDCC panel.
Legend of Korra creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino revealed at Comic-Con today that the graphic novel series will, according toĀ DiMartino, “definitely […] focus on Korra and Asami’s relationship.”
The pair also spoke about what their experience was like working on the series’ controversial ending, with DiMartino explaining “It’s been so great to see how much it connected with everyone. We knew people would hopefully enjoy it, but you never know… It’s touched people on an emotional level that I didn’t expect.”
