There’s Going to Be an Emoji Movie; World to Come to an End

OK, kids. It’s over. Time to pack it up and go home.

Sony Pictures Animation won a seven-figure auction, beating out three other studios who apparently want this, for the rights to a pitch for *sigh* an animated emoji movie. Anthony Leondis is set to direct as well as co-write the film with Eric Siegel. We’ve officially run out of screenplay ideas.

Now, for all I know, this could surprise me. After all, I didn’t think that there could be a movie based on a ride, then BOOM – Pirates of the Caribbean. I didn’t think you could make a movie out of a building toy, then BOOM – The LEGO Movie. So, I guess this could work? *sigh*

So, would you go see the emoji movie? But more importantly, who should voice the Poop Emoji?
