Grab your blankets, hot tea, and smores stuff because the Perseid meteor shower is on its way. According to LiveScience, “The meteor shower’s peak occurs during the overnight hours of Wednesday (Aug. 12) and Thursday (Aug. 13).”
Lucky for us, there’s also a new moon on the way, so the sky will be plenty dark to make way for the pretty shooting stars. If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, you’ll be able to catch the entire shower. Just head out to a nice, dark spot (city light = light pollution!) and take a gander northeast.
If you miss this one, don’t worry; the Leonid meteor shower is due in November. Are you going to check out the shower? If so, let us know! And come back to this thread to post your pics–we’d love to see them.
