Despite the fact that it finds itself the butt of many jokes, the fan fiction community is fully capable of turning out incredibly rich stories based on some of their favorite characters. What happens, then, when someone decides to make a movie about the community itself? What happens when someone wants to essentially write a fan fiction about fan fiction?
Well, what happens is you get /Slash/, a project currently up on Kickstarter. It’s about a young fanfic writer who is pushed by one of his friends to publish his story online. When it catches the eye of a specific moderator, things change for the young author, especially when him and his friend visit a con.
The movie features Michael Ian Black, Matt Peters, and a host of other comedians, and looks incredibly fun. Whatever your opinion on slashfic might be, it’s worth at least checking out their Kickstarter page to see the bits of movie they already do have together.
What do you think, gang? Would you check out a movie like this?
