Earlier today, we learned Disney had found the voice for their new princess, Moana — 14-year-old Auli’i Cravalho won the part, and she’s thrilled. Now we’ve got our first official promotional image of Moana (above, left) standing next to another character who may or may not be the Demi-God Maui, who’ll be voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

All we know about the plot of this story so far? Moana and Maui will board a boat together and “traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.” Given that Moana’s got a paddle in hand and a determined expression, it seems like she’s an active participant in this journey, not a passive tag-along.

Although Cravalho’s audition video doesn’t include any lines from the film that might reveal what sort of character Moana will be, it’s still an adorable peek into the process.

What do you think about Moana’s look? What type of character do you hope she’ll be?
