Have you been searching toy store after toy store for a Rey figurine, to no avail? Fear not! Hasbro is finally going to put out a new wave of toys, including a bunch of Rey-focused ones, according to EW. Let’s just go ahead and call it “the Rey wave.”

Seems like part of why Rey toys are coming out now is because the statute of limitations is officially up on the Star Wars spoiler that pertains to her weapon of choice (unless you don’t think that statute is up yet, in which case, stop reading). That was the dubious reason given for why Hasbro hadn’t already included more Rey toys in the first wave (or in their Monopoly set, at least not at first).

A lot of these new toys feature Rey wielding her spoilerific weapon, but not all of them do — you can also get her other weapon, the blaster featured above on the left. Or you could just go all out and get the “Rey Electronic Lightsaber” …

Paul Southern, head of Lucasfilm licensing, had a lot to say about this new line:

This new wave of product has got key elements from the film. You see Rey with a saber, her blaster, and a number of other elements we wanted to hold back until the film had been released. The timing is good to try to address some of the social discussion that has been created through the “Where’s Rey?” movement.

As for the lightsaber in particular, Southern went on: “It’s about acknowledging the role the lightsaber plays in the film and the role she plays as the heroine, as well as the role she’ll play in the future.” He then added, “Although we don’t want to talk about the future too much.”

Ominous! Anyway, the full line of toys looks pretty darn rad. Almost rad enough that I’ll forgive Southern for claiming “the excitement around [Rey] is a lot more than we were expecting it to be.” Shocking news: people want more toys featuring the main character of a popular film! Yeesh.
