The tunnel on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has long been the target of petitions requesting that it be renamed after the late actor. Last night, long after those petitions turned into a unanimous California Assembly vote, the first official signs denoting the tunnel as the Robin Williams Tunnel were placed.

After passing away in 2014, it seemed appropriate that Williams, a longtime San Franciscan, be remembered for the great and amazing things that he did in his lifetime. The tunnel, whose entrance is lined by a painting of a rainbow which is reminiscent of one of Williams’ characters’ suspenders (you know: Mork, from Mork and Mindy), used to be informally known as the “Waldo Tunnel.”

If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be watching Robin Williams movies all day, now, and trying not to cry.
