Hey, listen. This week’s been kind of rough for a lot of people. Whether it’s because Trump is slowly making progress towards securing a nomination, or right wing butts taking away rights from entire populations of people, or anything else that’s going on in your life, I want to say: I’m sorry, and you’re not alone. So, to prove that you’re not alone, I am here to share with you a video of some gorillas going easter egg hunting at the Cincinnati Zoo.
Well, to be more specific, they’re hunting for easter eggs within their enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. It’s not like they let them out to search for eggs all over the zoo or anything, though boy wouldn’t that be neat utterly terrifying?
There wasn’t any candy in these eggs. In fact, they were actually real eggs, just hard-boiled. Apparently the gorillas really love hard-boiled eggs, so the hunt was definitely a treat for them. As one of the caretakers in the video said:
We give them enrichment every single day, but this is more extravagant than what we do on a daily basis, so they are getting more treats than that sort of thing today. They’re getting colored hard-boiled eggs, different kinds of seeds, crackers, that sort of thing. They really like hard-boiled eggs, so they’re running around, trying to gather as much as they can.
If you’re feeling pretty down, go ahead and watch this video a few times. Look at all the gorillas carrying around the little easter egg baskets and just think about how much fun they’re having. And hey–I hope your day gets better. Or stays good. Either way.
