You may have known that there’s such a thing as service dogs for the blind, and if you read Y: The Last Man you know that Capuchin monkeys are often used as helper animals for people with disabilities. But did you know there are therapy raccoons? This one’s named Cody.

You can read more about Cody the therapy raccoon and his sick “mom,” Kasey Valentine over at The Dodo, but basically, Valentine has several chronic illnesses and would rarely leave the house. Having worked with exotic animals before she got sick, she answered an ad for a person giving Cody up for adoption, and she snagged him up! Now he’s opened up her world quite a bit and helps make the pain she’s going through a little easier to bear.

Say it with me now: awwwwwwwwww!
