Jeremy Renner may never get his Hawkeye Netflix TV show, but at least there’s this fan film from One Riot One Ranger Productions, featuring Clint Barton, Kate Bishop, Lucky the Pizza Dog, and the Tracksuit Draculas. Here’s a message from the creators:
Based on the classic comic book run by Matt Fraction, Hawkeye is a fan film made out of love and for exhibition purposes only. Hawkeye and its characters are owned by Marvel Comics. Our goal was to show our love and appreciation for characters we have read for years.
Plot:
Hawkeye (Clint Barton) has the day off and he just wants to waste the day messing with unimportant tasks around his apartment. That is until Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) shows up to drag him off to something he doesnāt want to do.
It’s been awhile since I read Hawkeye, so I’m not sure how much of the dialogue in this film is taken directly from the comic (aside from the “bros” of course), but a lot of the shots in this are awesome tributes to David Aja’s art. And damn, all that purple looks good here! I don’t think this was actually shot in New York, but it definitely got me thinking about how great a HawkeyeĀ show filmed in and around Brooklyn could be. I’m not a huge fan of Jeremy Renner, so I don’t really have any interest in a Netflix Marvel series starring him, but this film definitely got me thinking about it, at least.
What did you think, bros?
