During a visit to Germany, President Obama and Chancellor of Germany Angel Merkel took a break from serious discussions to try on a pair of virtual reality goggles. Were the goggles connected to anything? What virtual reality experience did Obama and Merkel partake in together? What are they reaching out their hands to touch, only to find that the images in front of them are not corporeal?
Looks like these two smarties figured out quick that you can’t see your hands in front of your face once you put those goggles on. I mean, it never stops being weird, I’ll grant them that. The first time I tried on a pair of goggles, I also lifted my hand in front of my face, even though I knew I wouldn’t be able to see it. Well, folks, Obama and Merkel are just like the average person trying on a pair of goggles, because that’s what they did too!
The new trend of putting googly eyes on virtual reality goggles is A++++ and needs to continue. This isn’t the only example; all week Twitter has been filled with fun photos of googly goggles. It’s way more fun to see the President wearing them, but here are some other examples of the googly goggle trend:
