Deadline reports that Dan Trachtenberg is joining Netflix‘s Black Mirror to tackle an episode. Trachtenberg seems like a perfect fit with the series’ dark, uncanny, and satirical tone. The show, created and written by Charlie Brooker, will have 12 episodes in the upcoming season.
Black Mirror is assembling an awesome list of directors and actors, and each new announcement just makes it sound even better! Trachtenberg joins Atonement director Joe Wright, returning director Owen Harris (who did the chilling episode with Hayley Atwell and Domhnall Gleeson, “Be Right Back”), and Jakob Verbruggen, who’s directed episodes of The Fall and House of Cards. Actors that we’ll see in the next season of the anthology series include Bryce Dallas Howard, Malachi Kirby, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, and Alice Eve.
We don’t know which actors Trachtenberg is working with yet (Howard and Eve are working with Wright, and Kirby with Verbruggen), but I’m very excited to see what kind of technology he’ll tackle in his episode. I mean, without getting to ripped-from-the-headlines Law and Order, the world in certainly offering up lots of potential topics. Are you looking forward to Black Mirror returning?
