It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost two months since music legend Prince passed away. There have been about a bajillion tributes already. Here’s another one, featuring some of your favorite geeky celebrities.
Kit Harrington reads the words to “Little Red Corvette” like a teenage boy who’s written a poem about a girl he likes. Chris Evans is lovably adorkable as he sings “Diamonds and Pearls,” and Melissa Benoist reminds you why she got cast on Glee when she lets rip on “Kiss!” Other participants include Chiwetel Eljifor, Elle Fanning, Nate Parker, Julia Louis-Dreifus, Rami Malek, Cindy Crawford, Tye Sheridan, and Ethan Hawke.
Director Lynn Hirschberg directed this and other clips, which you can check out over at Nerdist, asking these celebrities to remember Prince by either reading or singing some of his greatest hits. June 7th would’ve been Prince’s 58th birthday, and so Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton declared it Prince Day, so that Prince’s home state will always have a day during which to remember one of their greatest treasures.
Who did your favorite interpretation of a Prince song? And if you were asked to remember Prince by singing one of your favorite tracks of his, which one would you do?
