As the resident robot fan around here, I guess it’s no surprise that I absolutely love this charming video of 1,007 robots dancing and collectively breaking the Guinness World Record for most robots dancing at the same time. Yes, that’s a world record that actually exists, and now it has been broken.
Technically, this video was supposed to feature 1,040 robots dancing at the same time, but according to Geekologie, 33 of these robotic headbangers couldn’t manage to keep up with the rest of the automated crowd. Still, the resultant group of robots rocking out looks absolutely adorable, and of course, they did still beat the world record!
The event went down at the Qingdao International Beer Festival in China, and if the proud grins of all the folks accompanying and guiding these robots are any indication, it was an exciting success for all involved. They’re from Ever Win Company & Ltd., a Chinese electronics company that did this event as a form of promotion. The previous record-holders, fellow Chinese company UBTECH Robotics Corp, managed to get 540 robots to dance at once–but obviously these 1,007 robots blow that record out of the water.
If you like the song in the video, it’s “Faded” by Alan Walker, albeit without the lyrics in it.
