In the strange, bubbling cauldron of Upside Down that is Weird Internet, Netflix seems to have reached peak weird. To promote its already hugely popular show Stranger Things, they’ve added a few new recipes to their “Netflix Kitchen” based on the show. One of these recipes is… well, let’s say disturbing in its execution, though certainly humorous in its intent. Their take on french onion soup is, uh, mashed up with everyone’s beloved redhead bestie, Barb.

Let that sink in for a moment: they made a french onion soup complete with a topping/crust that looks like a dead teenager’s face. While I’m sure the recipe itself is delicious, the image of the screaming face with the weird, bubbly soup underneath is more than a little off-putting. At least, it’s enough to put me out of my appetite.

This is like the thing that you’d order at a Netflix-themed restaurant because hey, who doesn’t like Barb, maybe this soup was her favorite or something. Then, as you revel in your headcanon of Barb comfortably eating french onion soup safe and sound at home before meeting up with friends who won’t ditch her just cause, the waiter plunks this bowl of heart-rending horror in front of you, jarring you not just from your reverie but from the very fabric of life itself, then whoops you’re in the Upside Down.

You know, kind of like that.

Anyway, the Demogorgon Pie looks delicious.

Freaky almond shark teeth, anybody? Anyone? Hello?
