HBO’s Westworld is a show that is full of mysteries. One fan, however, decided to latch on to the mystery of Dolores’ paintings. Because for real though, where do they go?

As reported by /Film, Reddit user ‘mattdezine’ titled a post “The real question no one is asking…” which included the above image and question. What have they done with the ‘roughly’ 10,950 paintings? First of all, I want to know exactly how this user arrived at that number and when he started counting Dolores’ days from. But secondly, as you know if you’ve been watching the show, part of Dolores’ loop is stopping to paint the beautiful landscape near her home. Now, she’s not doing as much painting these days. Still, that’s a lot of years and a lot of artwork.

Well, Westworld co-showrunner Jonathan Nolan didn’t wanna leave ‘mattdezine’ hanging, so he took to the Westworld subreddit himself and in a post titled “Doesn’t look like anything to me” linked to this image:

Drawings

There’s something really creepy about seeing all these paintings that look exactly the same being flipped through. It evokes a similar anxiety to seeing Maeve’s hidden drawings under her floorboards.

No, this is not footage that you’ve missed in an episode that’s aired. While it’s unclear whether this is a deleted scene, or a snippet from a future episode, it comes directly from the creator’s mouth. Or rather, his imgur. I could see this being a deleted scene from a prior episode though there’s an equal possibility that, while Dolores is off gallivanting with William, park employees are free to ransack the Abernathy house. So, it could be from an upcoming episode.

Whatever it is, it’s pretty rad that Nolan decided to answer this question because sometimes we just need to know, you know?
