Apologies to the Clone Club, but you’re gonna have to way just a little longer for new episodes of Orphan Black. BBC announced that the show’s fifth and final season will begin airing in June. That’s a little strange, considering the series starring Tatiana Maslany usually returns around April. I’m just going to chalk it up to producers taking some extra time to end the show on the right note.
Co-created by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, the sci-fi thriller centers on a woman named Sarah Manning who assumes the identity of Elizabeth Childs, a woman who looks exactly like her, after witnessing Childs’ suicide in a train station. She soon discovers that she is a clone and forms a sisterhood with her other clones, including the perky soccer mom Alison Hendrix, PhD microbiology student Cosima Niehaus and off-the-rails assassin Helena. They often receive help from Sarah’s brother Felix, Beth’s former police partner Art, and Allison’s husband Donnie.
Orphan Black is slated to return on June 10th. If you need to catch up on what’s happened so far, the above clip should help.
