The CW’s show Riverdale, a.k.a. the most delicious guilty pleasure currently on TV, has its own comic based in the same world. In the second issue, the gang goes full-on Breakfast Club. We’ve got the first look at the art and covers—and what Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and Josie would look like in a John Hughes movie.
Here’s what you need to know:

We suspect the Riverdale kids’ latest adventure nods to The Breakfast Club not only because it is one of the best high school movies of all time but because its star, Molly Ringwald, will be debuting her arc as Archie’s mom Mary Andrews on April 13th. One of
One of Riverdale’s cleverest decisions was casting ’80s and ’90s stars like 90210’s Luke Perry as Archie’s dad and Twin Peaks‘ Mädchen Amick as Betty’s mom. With Ringwald joining the cast, the nostalgia will be at full blast.
Riverdale #2 looks very fun, and though I shudder to think some of its readers are young enough that this might be their first exposure to The Breakfast Club, all the better that they start somewhere. In this case, who do you think best fits as the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal?
