The original Bill Nye the Science Guy theme song is an iconic tune that will instantly transport many of us back into middle school science class. For the upcoming Netflix series Bill Nye Saves the World, it honestly never crossed my mind that we’d be getting a new theme. Now, Tyler, The Creator has dropped the Bill Nye theme that will save the world.

First of all, chanting “Bill! Bill! Bill!” is just a part of the American school system DNA, so I’m excited that they didn’t fix what wasn’t broken. The two talk more about the new theme song in this clip:

Tyler talks about loving the show when he was younger and when he points out that “the world is the laboratory,” Bill is elated Tyler got it and gushes, “I love you man!” In terms of inspiration, the two talk about how they love the original song and show.

Bill says he chose Tyler because “He’s the man. He’s got the beat. He understood the beat…which goes back to the original song from twenty-five years ago.” What do you think about the new song?
