Get your towels ready, it’s about to go down—I’m sorry, wrong reference. Still, I think we have cause for a celebration. It was revealed that Supernatural will have a crossover with another team of ghostbusting sleuths next season: The Scooby-Doo gang. Yes, you read that correctly. Winchester brothers Sam and Dean are teaming up with Freddy, Velma, Shaggy, Daphne and Scooby-Doo for an unknown crime next season. No further details such as when said episode would air have been released but we’ll keep you posted as they come along.
This comes after the network renewed the long-running series for a 13th season. “Over the past several seasons, the CW has built a schedule of proven performers, from our lineup of DC superheroes to critically acclaimed comedies, to sci-fi dramas,” CW President Mark Pedowitz said back in January. “Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long.”
New scripted series headed your way include a Dynasty reboot, a comedy called Life Sentence, military drama Valor and DC’s Black Lightning starring Hart of Dixie alum Cress Williams. We also learned that Jane the Virgin will move to Friday nights and that Riverdale will move to Wednesdays as a lead in for Dynasty. These upcoming shows sound great and everything (we all know Black Lightning will be BONKERS), but I’m just happy to hear that The Originals will be back for a season five.
