Are you excited and scared for Andy Muschietti’s It? Are you someone who watched all those terrifying trailers and promos for this 2+ hour movie, got tickets for the It-themed creepy-ass haunted house and still decided “this isn’t enough, I need to watch this film in a room full of clowns? Well, you’re in luck because Alamo Drafthouse is holding a special “Clown Screening” of It.

There are some very cool perks to this screening, like exclusive Mondo pins and commemorative Stephen King themed Birth.Movies.Death.magazine. Also, clowns, clowns, and more clowns. The description writes:

“For this special screening of IT, all attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend. Please arrive early and join us in the Barrel O’ Fun beginning at 5:30pm for an IT pre-party where we will have face-painters available for clown “touch-ups”, a photo booth, raffles for prizes, and other terrifying merriment. Please arrive in your own Pennywise best and be ready to float with us.”

This is a terrifying event I want absolutely no part of, but a possible origin story for the event is pretty great:

The screening will be held at the Austin, TX Mueller location on Saturday, September 9th. If that’s something you’d be into, ya red-nosed weirdo, you can grab tickets here. For those outside Austin, there’s nothing stopping you from putting your Pennywise get-up on for any other screening, but be aware that I will start crying on you.
