Twenty-seven years after Bill and Ted last traveled through time, the original slackers—now middle-aged dads—will be reunited in Bill & Ted Face the Music.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the whole band is getting back together. In addition to Reeves (Ted) and Winters (Bill) reprising their roles, Bill & Ted’s creators are also along for the ride:

Original creators Chris Matheson (Imagine That) and Ed Solomon (Men in BlackMosaicNow You See Me) have penned the script, with Dean Parisot (Galaxy QuestRed 2Fun With Dick and Jane) confirmed to direct.

If everything old must be revived again, this at least seems like a property that could be a lot of fun. New generations need to experience the excellence, and the plot looks like a very silly good (party) time. I particularly love that Bill and Ted will be traveling with their daughters.

Bill & Ted Face the Music will see the duo long past their days as time-traveling teenagers and now weighed down by middle age and the responsibilities of family. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe. Together with the aid of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends, they find much, much more than just a song.

The creatives behind Bill & Ted have been talking about a third movie for many years now, and we’re glad to see it officially on the books. Denying us this movie would have been a crime most heinous.

(Sorry. I had to.)

So what did you see today?
