If you snagged a ticket, we’re a lot of fun to hang out with, we promise.

On Thursday, July 19th, your friendly neighborhood Mary Sue editors will be at Videology Bar & Cinema for the launch of our first Feminist Film Forum.

Assistant Editor Princess Weekes, my favorite superhero from Brooklyn (sorry, Captain America), is front and center for an evening of clips and cocktails. Our friends at Tor Books are graciously serving as sponsors and every attendee will get a badass Tor #FearlessWomen / The Mary Sue tote bag with select #FearlessWomen Tor books included.

Here’s what to expect if you’re headed our way tomorrow:

A playful and engaging feminist clip show film analysis presented by Assistant Editor, Princess Weekes of The Mary Sue that will allow the audience to view highlights of a curated selection of films through a feminist, pop culture lens. The show is guaranteed to bring a fresh perspective while promoting a healthy camaraderie among event attendees.

We just got word that the event is totally sold out! (You can still come to Videology to chill at the bar with us post-8:15pm.) We’re so excited about the enthusiasm for our forum and we can’t wait to see everyone there.

Let us know in the comments if you’ll be there—and if you’re New York-based (or within transportation/teleportation distance), let us know if you’d be interested in coming to future events. We’ll also be talking about fanfiction and asexuality in pop culture at two panels we’re moderating at Flame Con in August!
