I See What They Did There

It’s a trailer for Kiara the Brave, produced by GoodTimes Entertainment, a company that became kind of notorius for producing direct-to-video knockoffs of Disney movies suspiciously close to the release date of those movies in the ’90s. But hey, at least they’re not Video Brinquedo, who so far have just happened to put out Little & Big Monsters, The Little Cars, Ratatoing, Tiny Robots, What’s Up?: Balloon to the Rescue!, and The Frog Prince just when Monsters vs. Aliens, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E, UP, and The Princess and the Frog were hitting theaters.

More heroines is always a good thing, but I invite you to take a look at the production value and dialogue here and try not to be amused.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
