It’s like our childhoods conspired in a secret room about how to best make us go “HELL YES!” People, meet Belle as Princess Leia, and the Beast as Han. It’s something we never knew we’ve always wanted. Thanks James Silvani! (via Silvani Art)
- Things we knew but which blow our minds every time we think about them: Christopher Robin was a real boy with a real toy bear, who eventually grew up and probably had a job at some point (apparently he ran a bookshop with his wife). Here’s a picture of him (via Neatorama):
- Nathan Fillion. Is the greatest. We knew that. Proving further that he is kind and considerate of mind when it comes to his loving fanbase, he came up with a system to get to sign things for as many people as possible while still hopefully avoiding being swarmed Beatle-style on the convention floor:
- Needed further proof the comics industry is holding women’s bodies to a ridiculous standard? No? *Sigh* Oh well. They’ll give you more proof, anyway. When giving portfolio feedback, one company took a look at this illustration…
- And had this to say (bolding ours)….
“Her breasts are much too small and do not have the lift that superhero women should have. Her jawline is fat and her neck much too long. The style of her hair is clunky and does not flow in a sense that a super human would. Her hips, waist and thighs are too big and she honestly looks fat.No one is going to want to read a comic with a fat female protagonist. I honestly recommend looking at issues of Sport’s Illustrated to get the right anatomy. Those women are the peak of human perfection, and that is what we want in this industry.”
- In happier news: Starkid announced that they’ll be premiering the third A Very Potter Musical very soon! The premiere of the show–called A Very Potter Senior Year–will be taking place at LeakyCon next month. We have Hulk-like jealousy for the friends who get to go.
- So far nearly everybody who reads blogs like ours has heard about all of the movies Marvel announced last week. But why isn’t Black Panther on the roster? Marvel Co-President Louis D’Esposito spoke a bit clumsily on the matter in an interview with MTV:
“He has a lot of the same characteristics of a Captain America: great character, good values,” said the Marvel exec. “But it’s a little more difficult, maybe, creating [a world like Wakanda]. It’s always easier basing it here. For instance, Iron Man 3 is rooted right here in Los Angeles and New York. When you bring in other worlds, you’re always faced with those difficulties.”

- There is an awesome inforgraphic outlining the evolution of Batman villains over at Wired. It’s a bit large, so we won’t post it here, but go feast your eyes on it. Go, we say!
