Can’t get enough of the lore around Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi? Intrigued by Inquisitor Reva and the sinister Inquisitorius? We’ve got you. The Inquisitors were some of the most feared agents of the Empire after the Republic fell, and for good reason—they were comprised of former Jedi and brainwashed Padawans who turned to the Dark Side through corruption or torture. They were popular antagonists in Star Wars Rebels, the video game Stars Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and even the Darth Vader comic book series. And two of the most notorious Inquisitors are the Second Sister and the Seventh Sister. They’ve got a lot of history to cover—so let’s dive in.
Who is the Second Sister?
The Second Sister was once a Jedi named Trilla Suduri, who was captured by the Empire. In the aftermath of the Clone Wars/fall of the Republic, Suduri and her master, Jedi Knight Cere Junda, attempted to hide while protecting a group of Jedi younglings. Unfortunately, they were caught, and the torture they underwent transformed Suduri into the Second Sister—a Force-sensitive assassin and member of the Inquisitors. As an Inquisitor, she was relentless, cruel, and would often sadistically toy with her prey. She was also known for being an expert duelist and possessing a brilliant intellect—which meant, often, she’d be able to anticipate the behavior of her targets.
Eventually, she was tasked with tracking down the Jedi fugitive Cal Kestis, who was working to avoid capture by the Inquisitors with the help of the Second Sister’s former master, Cere Junda. After narrowly escaping her several times, Kestis and Junda came to Inquisitorious headquarters on the water moon Nur—where they learned that the Second Sister had acquired a holocron containing a list of Force-sensitive younglings. Kestis and Junda were able to overcome her in a lightsaber duel, and Junda made amends with her fallen apprentice. Unfortunately, this was cut short when Darth Vader appeared and executed the Second Sister for her failure. With her dying breath, she told Kestis and Junda to “avenge them all.”

The Second Sister’s main role was in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a 2019 videogame from Respawn where she was voiced by actress Elizabeth Grullon. However, her first appearance was in the Darth Vader comic book written by Charles Soule and penciled by Guiseppe Camuncoli. Her debut appeared in issue 19. She has also been identified in a reference book, Star Wars: The Dark Side, written by Tricia Barr.
Who is the Seventh Sister?
The Seventh Sister is a Mirialan Inquisitor who hunted Jedi and Force-sensitive children in the years between the end of the Clone Wars and the Battle of Yavin. One of her main tasks was tracking down Ahsoka Tano. Because of this, she was often in direct conflict with the Spectres—a rebel cell consisting of Kanan Jarrus, a former Padawan that survived Order 66, and his new trainee Ezra Bridger. She fought them on many occasions, usually accompanied by the Fifth Brother.
While the Fifth Brother relied on brute strength and often disregarded strategy in favor of direct attacks, the Seventh Sister favored agility and tactics. Keeping a tight rein on her emotions, she spoke calmly during combat and often displayed a level of respect for her opponents and enemies. She thought the Fifth Brother was short-sighted and disagreed with his methods, though together they made an intimidating pair of brains and brawn.
Unfortunately for the Seventh Sister, when she was ordered by Darth Vader to obtain a Sith holocron from Malachor (along with the Fifth and Eighth brothers), she came into conflict with Ezra Bridger and the former Sith Lord Maul. She was defeated by Maul and Bridger in combat, and was ultimately killed by Maul (bisected by his lightsabers in fact) after Bridger refused to do so.

The Seventh Sister is one of the antagonists created for Star Wars Rebels. She first appeared in the second season of the animated show—voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Gellar’s husband, Freddie Prinze Jr, is the voice of Kanan Jarrus. Her character design is also featured in the 2020 book The Art of Star Wars Rebels, and she can be seen socializing with the Fifth Brother and the Second Sister in issue 19 of Darth Vader.
