Bust Out the Beignets, the Third Season of ‘Barry’ Is Finally Coming!

We're, like, legit nervous!

Barry fans rejoice! Our other favorite HBO banger (aside from Succession and Euphoria and Peacemaker and, well, you get the idea) has finally returned from its pandemic-forced hiatus. Season 3 is set to arrive on the network and streaming service HBO Max in April, and in anticipation of the spring release, HBO has finally unveiled an exciting new teaser trailer.

Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger back in the before times (2019), so here is a small refresher: Gene finds out that Barry murdered Detective Moss (Gene’s girlfriend) thanks to Fuches (Stephen Root), and Fuches is now on the run. Sally is finally getting praise for her acting. Meanwhile, Los Angeles’ criminal underworld is in chaos because of all the mobsters taken out by Barry, and NoHo Hank is trying to make the best of it.

The teaser trailer is made up mostly of flashback footage, but we hear Barry claim that “forgiveness has to be earned.” Aside from the flashbacks, we get a tiny peek at what is to come: lots of shootouts (naturally), Sally on some sort of film or TV set, and my favorite boy NoHo Hank eating a delicious beignet. The core cast all get small moments, so we know that, alongside Bill Hader, Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Anthony Carrigan, and Sarah Goldberg will all appear in season 3.

So when does season 3 release?

Season 3 of Barry will hit our TVs and streaming apps on April 24. New episodes will drop weekly on Wednesday nights at 10pm. There will be eight episodes in total, which matches up with the number of episodes for the previous two seasons.

Bill Hader previously won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in both 2018 and 2019 for his role in Barry, and honestly, I can’t wait to see what happens next. But nothing had better happen to sweet baby NoHo Hank! (Which means it probably will.)
