Take me with you, Noh-Varr! I wanna be awesome!!

Anyone who reads Marvel comics knows that Noh-Varr, AKA Marvel Boy, is the hottest superhero in the multiverse. But who is Noh-Varr? And could he be making his MCU debut soon? Here are all the facts and rumors you need to know about to get up to speed!

Noh-Varr was originally a Kree soldier from reality 2000080, but after his ship got lost in interdimensional space and was attacked by the supervillain Midas, he crash-landed on Earth-616 (that is, our universe) and was forced to hide out in New York City. Noh-Varr’s genes are spliced with those of a cockroach (although he’s much better looking than a cockroach), which means that in addition to the enhanced strength and speed of the Kree, Noh-Varr can scale walls.

Noh-Varr also has a host of other powers. He can perform a “white run,” in which he suppresses any stimulus that’s distracting him so that he can focus completely on combat. His saliva can cause hallucinations in those it comes in contact with, and he can emit energy blasts from his hands.

Arguably Noh-Varr’s most popular appearance is in Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie’s acclaimed Young Avengers, in which he and Kate Bishop (AKA Hawkeye) are dating. In Young Avengers, Noh-Varr is a huge fan of Earth music, especially The Ronettes, and his ship serves as the team’s main mode of transportation as they travel the multiverse, trying to find a way to defeat the homicidal entity Mother.

Is Noh-Varr Coming to the MCU?

Last year, the news broke that Korean star Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class, Parasite) would be joining the cast of The Marvels. In The Marvels, slated to premiere in July 2023, Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) will be teaming up with Monica Rambeau (Tayonah Perris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) to defeat Zawe Ashton’s as-yet unnamed villain.

Although we don’t know who Park will be playing yet, rumor has it that he could be playing Noh-Varr.

The inclusion of Noh-Varr in The Marvels would make a lot of sense. As a Kree, Noh-Varr already has a connection to Carol, who was trained as a Kree warrior herself. As a being from another reality, Noh-Varr could tie The Marvels into Marvel’s Multiverse Saga. Plus, two of Noh-Varr’s love interests from the comics, Kate Bishop and Hercules, are already in the MCU.

However, it’s not confirmed that Park will be playing Noh-Varr. Other rumors state that he’s playing Prince Yan of Aladna, a planet where people sing instead of talking.
