‘SK8 The Infinity’ Season 2 Trailer Is Here and I Still Can’t Do a $%&^ing Kickflip

SK8 The Infinity, the popular anime about badass skateboarders holding secret nighttime competitions, ollied its way into my heart with its release of Season 1. It also made me want to dust off the old board and try to land some tricks. I failed. I don’t get it. I watched the show. I bought the clothes. I wore the SK8 The Infinity merch. But I still can’t land a goddamn kickflip. I thought that looking the part would make me GOOD. Isn’t that how it’s supposed to work? Remember when skateboarders would ride around with their helmets unbuckled? It looked super cool. And looking cool probably helped them skate better right? Isn’t that what skating is all about? Looking cool? I DON’T UNDERSTAND.

Maybe if I watch season 2 I’ll be able to do it. The announcement that there would be a sequel season came in August 2022, and now we have a season 2 trailer to tide us over until the show itself is here.

So When Will SK8 The Infinity Season 2 Pop Shove-It Into The World?

While there hasn’t been any official release date announced, it’s likely that the second season will arrive sometime in 2023. We also know that an OVA is in the works, but we don’t know which one is coming first. Obviously if Studio Bones is focusing on the OVA we might have to wait a little longer until we can kickflip into Season 2. However, it also gives us more time to buy cool skater clothes and incorporate words like “radical” and “gnarly” into our everyday vocabulary.

Who Is In The Gnarly and Radical Voice Cast?

No official announcements have been made about the voice cast for Season 2, but judging by the list on the official website, it’s safe to say that the voice cast for Season 1 will be reprising their roles. The cast list is as follows:

  • REKI. Tasuku Hatanaka / Matt Shipman.
  • Chiaki Kobayashi / Howard Wang.
  • MIYA. Takuma Nagatsuka / Ry McKeand.
  • Kenta Miyake / Chris Guerrero.
  • Cherry blossom. Hikaru Midorikawa / Daman Mills.
  • Yasunori Matsumoto / Jonah Scott.
  • ADAM. Takehito Koyasu / David Wald.
  • Kensho Ono / Brandon Johnson.

Far out, my guy.

What’s The Plot Of Season 2 Gonna Be? Landing A 900?

We’re not sure what the plot of Season 2 is gonna be, which is a weird feeling. Usually anime get released after a manga has gained traction, but since there is no SK8 Infinity manga, we can’t read ahead and see what’s gonna happen next. But we can guess!

Season one ended with Langa beating Adams and winning the skating tournament, solidifying him as the best skater around. It’s likely that he’ll go to Tokyo in Season 2 in order to compete with the county’s top skaters in the S Downhill Skating competition. I bet THOSE guys can do kickflips.

Will The Season 2 Trailer Teach Me To Kickflip?

Probably not. I’ve watched it 100 times already and I still suck. You’re welcome to give it a shot though. Just don’t blame me if you break your wrist.
