To promote DC Comics’ Brightest Day Event, light-up Green Lantern displays — featuring the cover of Green Lantern #50 — were sold to retailers at $150. And then one of them caught on fire. And other stores reported smelling smoke upon lighting up the displays, so they are now being asked to kindly unplug their displays. Sooooo … oh, well. The video above shows what the display (which was designed by Jim Lee and Scott Williams) looks like under ideal circumstances, and does not show the display that burst into flames.
