Bridgerton Season 4 Is All Set To Be a Cinderella Story With Its Newly Announced Lead!

Dearest gentle reader, are you ready for the Cinderella story of the Bridgerton series? Not that it wasn’t made obvious at the end of season 3 but the series has officially announced which of the Bridgerton siblings is up next … And, yep, we were all correct—It’s Benedict Bridgerton!

The showrunners may have chosen to not follow the alphabetical rule in picking their leads for each season, which is why this Bridgerton sibling’s story has been a long time coming. In fact, there were many fans who were hoping that Benedict’s story would follow Anthony’s, but instead it was Polin season for the show’s third outing.

And now, finally, it is the turn of the second Bridgerton sibling, Benedict! In an official Bridgerton season 4 announcement video, pieced from snippets of the past seasons, it was revealed that Luke Thompson is about to become even more swoon-worthy as he gets his Bridgerton lead glow-up. The video ends with a clip of Thompson being given a suit and asked to get ready for a masquerade ball.

Shrewd viewers will remember the conversation Benedict and Eloise had at the end of season 3, where she tells him that even though she is going to Scotland to stay with Francesca and Lord Kilmartin for a while, she will return to Mayfair in time for the season, because their mother would never let her miss her masquerade ball.

The book girlies know that this ball is where Benedict will meet his muse, Sophie Beckett. Based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer From A Gentleman, this one is a Cinderella story of sorts, in which our heroine, an orphan is not a member of the fancy ton as the Bridgertons are. She manages to sneak in and have her fairytale moment with Benedict at the ball with her mask on, but then has to return to her regular maid life. That is until fate intervenes and their paths cross again …

Who will star opposite Luke Thompson in Bridgerton season 4?

There’s no announcement yet on who our Sophie Beckett is quite yet. But fans have already tried to fancast some great choices in the role.

Either way, the excitement for Benophie (the ship name that sounds like a delicious pie) is through the roof!

Do we have a release date for Bridgerton season 4?

Unfortunately, we have a release year, and it’s going to put a dampener on all the excitement you just felt over the announcement. Because we won’t be getting a new season until 2026.

Yep, two-ish long years until Benedict Bridgerton can sweep us off our feet. Until we get Polin again, because you bet the happily married Colin and Penelope have some advice for Benedict on love, like Anthony and Kate did for Colin. And there’s new drama to expect from Lady Whistledown because if you thought we were done with Penelope’s identity out in the open, you’ve got another thing coming. Julie Andrews might just be back to read our favorite scandal for something new *winks*.
