A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 1 is now available on Netflix after previously premiering on the BBC in the U.K. If you’re anything like us, you’ll have binged all six episodes in record time, caught up in 17-year-old Pip Fitz-Amobi’s (Emma Meyers) harrowing investigation into the deaths of Andie Bell and Sal Singh.
Will there be A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2?
Though the first season brings Pip’s investigation to a satisfactory conclusion—we won’t say whodunnit, you’ll have to watch the show yourselves!—we now know there’s plenty more in store for Pip in the future. The BBC has officially confirmed that A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2 is in the works, with filming expected to take place on location in the U.K. next year. The second season will consist of six episodes, the same as the first.
Holly Jackson, the original author of the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder book series, will work alongside season 1 writer Poppy Cogan to write and adapt Pip’s second adventure. Of the renewal, Jackson said to the BBC: “I am BEYOND thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show! We owe everything to the dedicated fans, and I can’t wait to reunite with my AGGGTM family!”
The announcement included a brief description of what’s to come:
“After solving the Andie Bell case Pip’s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout—and stay away from any more investigations. But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.”
Both Emma Meyers, who played Pip, and Zain Iqbal, who portrayed Sal’s brother Ravi Singh, will return for A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2. Further casting news has yet to be confirmed.
There are three full-length novels in Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series, as well as a prequel novella. In the second book, Good Girl, Bad Blood, Pip and Ravi launch a true crime podcast detailing their experiences investigating Andie Bell’s case. Though Pip has vowed to leave her investigative days behind her, that promise becomes hard to keep when someone goes missing on the sixth anniversary of Sal and Andie’s suspicious deaths. In the third novel, As Good as Dead, Pip’s involvement in the case comes back to haunt her as she finds herself the victim of a stalker with murderous intent.
Let’s hope A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2 does as well as the first so we can watch the full trilogy on the small screen!
