The last time we heard about casting for The Crow reboot/remake, it was The Avenger’s Tom Hiddleston up for the gig. A new report is now claiming True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgård might take the lead role.

I’ve been taking most of The Crow casting rumors with a huge grain of salt considering none of them have come from named studio sources. James McAvoyMark Wahlberg, and Bradley Cooper were all in contention if reports are to be believed but Hiddleston’s involvement seemed to make the most sense. That last report had the actor doing his own makeup tests for the role, which I could easily believe.

Part of why I’m not taking this seriously – a “professional” Hollywood site actually wrote the word “bullshit” in their post on the topic, which also included them apparently debunking some other casting news. But I digress.

Deadline writes, “Also not happening is Thor and The Avengers antagonist Tom Hiddleston starring in Relativity Media’s reboot of The Crow. A simple conversation has been overhyped and reported like it was going to happen. The guy to keep an eye on here is True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard, who is getting numerous offers since his plans to star for David Yates in Tarzan died on the vine when Warner Bros halted the project over budget.”

Take that how you will. Are you less or more likely to see this reboot with Skarsgård?
